Optician | Gloversville, NY | In Person

Hometown Primary Optometry PLLC is seeking a patient-focused, detail-oriented Optician for its in-person team in Gloversville, NY. This role combines patient care, eyewear sales, and optical services in a primary eye care practice.

What You Will Do:

• Help patients select frames and lens based on prescriptions, lifestyle, comfort, and style.
• Dispense eyewear and contacts; verify prescriptions, take accurate measurements, and provide adjustments, repairs, and follow-up service.
• Support efficient patient visits through pre-testing, lensometry, diagnostic testing support, inventory, merchandising, and optical-area organization.
• Support front end and administrative staff with insurance verification, claims, and all office clerical duties.

What You Bring:

• Experience as an Optician, Optical Sales Associate, Optical Dispenser, or Licensed Dispensing Optician in an eye care, optical retail, or optometry setting.
• Knowledge of prescription dispensing, contact lenses, frame fitting, lensometry, and accurate measurements.
• Clear, compassionate communication and the ability to explain eyewear options and care instructions.
• Organization, dependability, and comfort balancing patient care, retail tasks, and administrative details.
• Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ABO certification and New York Licensed Dispensing Optician credentials.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive hourly wage of $22 to $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
