We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity offering approximately 16 hours per week, with remote flexibility available after the initial training period. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across core accounting functions and the ability to maintain accurate financial records in a dependable, organized manner.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks by monitoring incoming payments, tracking outstanding balances, and supporting timely collections.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded correctly and in accordance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate cash records.
• Maintain and support the general ledger by reviewing account activity and helping ensure month-to-month accuracy.
• Assist with accounting processes following training, including work related to updated internal systems or workflow changes when needed.• Hands-on accounting experience in a part-time or contract capacity, preferably supporting routine financial operations.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage financial data in an organized, confidential manner.
• Comfortable working independently while meeting deadlines in a flexible, part-time schedule.
• Ability to complete onsite training and transition to remote work effectively afterward.
