\nWe are recruiting on behalf of a growing boutique Intellectual Property firm in beautiful Old Town Alexandria that is expanding its patent practice and looking to hire three Patent Attorneys and/or Patent Agents.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for patent professionals who want sophisticated work, meaningful responsibility, mentorship, and professional development within a smaller, collaborative firm environment.
\nThe firm is located on the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria, offers free parking, and has a hybrid work schedule.
\nWhat You’ll Do:
\n• Prepare and draft patent applications
\n• Handle all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution
\n• Analyze USPTO Office Actions and develop strategies for response
\n• Prepare responses to Office Actions
\n• Maintain accurate billing, files, and docketing
\n• Take on increasing levels of responsibility as your experience grows
\nQualifications:
\n• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
\n• Approximately 1–3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience
\n• Prior experience drafting patent applications
\n• Strong attention to detail
\n• Excellent technical, analytical, and writing skills
\n• Ability to quickly understand complex technologies
\n• Professional, motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
